In 2020, Jaeger -LeCoultre relaunched its master control collection. It draws its inspiration from the classic round watches from the 1950s, such as the Futurematic and the Memovox models, combined with a modern design of the 21st century. The sides of the case are satin, while the bezel, crown, and lugs are polished. Noble details such as engravings on the back and a sapphire crystal bottom to make the finely refined and decorated movements visible round off the models perfectly. On the dials, the designers from Jaeger-LeCoultre have reinterpreted the classic codes in a modern style to highlight the complications of each individual model. The applied indices with their elongated shape, ensure the finishing touch. The models in the collection impress with their silver sunburst dials. A blue central second hand gives the design a touch of color and, depending on the model, blued hands on the sub-dials emphasize the complications.

The extraordinary luxury watches for men of the new Master Control collection is equipped with a newly developed movement, the caliber 759, which combines a chronograph with a triple calendar display and a moon phase display. This combination of complications, which first appeared in a Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece, is reminiscent of the age-old connection between watchmaking and astronomy. The new caliber 759 offers a column-wheel chronograph with a vertical clutch, a moon phase display and a power reserve of 65 hours. With a balanced dial design that combines two classic complications - the designers at Jaeger-LeCoultre made reading the displays clear and intuitive, despite the complexity of the information provided. The 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock faces an auxiliary dial for the current second at 9 o'clock, while the windows for the day and month display are at the top of the dial and the moon phase and date display at 6 o'clock. The dial is rounded off by the central chronograph second hand and the pulsometer scale around the height ring. The timeless style of the Master Control Chronograph is complemented by rectangular chronograph pushers, which give the well proportioned, case a practical, modern appearance.
The Master Control Date convinces with its impressive, silver color palette, its minimalist design, and its noble details. Thanks to its flat movement, the 40 mm stainless steel case of the Master Control Date is only 8.78 mm high. A cornerstone of Jaeger-LeCoultre since its launch has been updated several times to incorporate the latest performance-enhancing technology.

To complement the timeless informality of the stainless steel case, the designers at Jaeger-LeCoultre chose the soft, matt finish of brown calf leather. Thanks to this process, the leather was produced in the finest tannery using a plant-based tanning process, retains the natural variations of the leather, and develops a characteristic patina over time. Thanks to a spring bar for attachment to the lugs and a simple clip to remove and re-attach the folding clasp, the wristbands can be replaced quickly and without tools.
